BOTOX Treatment

BOTOX® injections are a well known way to reduce wrinkles. But did you know that BOTOX can reduce TMJ disorder pain and migraine symptoms?

Board-certified oral surgeon Dustin Hopkin uses BOTOX injections to treat patients suffering from jaw pain, chronic migraines, and more.

Can BOTOX injections administered at Hopkin Oral Surgery in Salt Lake City, UT, help you find relief?

What Is Botox?

BOTOX got its name from the active ingredient botulinum toxin, a neurotoxin made from bacteria.

After the botulinum toxin is sterilized and diluted, it is completely safe for cosmetic and medical use.

Dr. Hopkin injects the material into your muscles to block nerve signals. This relaxes tense, contracting muscles that cause wrinkles around the brow and eye area, including frown lines, and painful health issues.

Different brands of injectables featuring botulinum toxin, including Xeomin® and Dysport®, are also used to treat a variety of cosmetic and medical conditions.

Dr. Hopkin is an Oral Surgeon. Why does he offer BOTOX injections?

Dr. Hopkin uses BOTOX at his state-of-the-art Salt Lake City practice for non-surgical cosmetic and medical treatments. He finds that the injections are especially useful for treating chronic migraines and TMJ pain. Dr. Hopkin also offers Juvéderm® to treat lines and wrinkles throughout the face.

BOTOX for Chronic Migraines

  • Chronic migraines are severe headaches that occur 15 times or more a month, lasting four hours or more.
  • Symptoms include severe pain, sound and light sensitivity, and vision problems.
  • Tight, tense muscles that contract and make you clench your jaw or grind your teeth could be a contributing cause of chronic migraines.
  • Dr. Hopkin can inject BOTOX into your head, jaw joints, cheeks, and neck areas to loosen taut, stretched muscles and stop painful contractions.
  • This treatment can relieve debilitating symptoms and prevent migraines from even happening.

Is BOTOX a Popular Treatment for Chronic Migraines?

BOTOX statistic

Yes, according to data released by BOTOX. Treatment, on average, can prevent eight to nine migraines from happening per month.
