Meet Dr. Dustin Hopkin

Dustin J. Hopkin, DDS, is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon providing advanced surgical care to patients throughout Salt Lake City, Utah, and the surrounding communities. With more than a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Hopkin is known for his expertise in dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, bone grafting, TMJ treatment, sleep apnea surgery, and facial trauma reconstruction. His approach combines precision surgical skill with a deep commitment to patient comfort, safety, and long-term oral health outcomes.

Dr. Hopkin earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics, where he received multiple awards for excellence in dental research. He went on to complete an intensive Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Indiana University, gaining advanced training in complex surgical procedures, anesthesia, trauma care, and reconstructive surgery. In 2013, he achieved board certification from the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a distinction that reflects the highest standards of clinical competence and ethical practice in the specialty.

Dr. Hopkin’s journey into oral surgery began early. Growing up in Morgan, Utah, he was introduced to the field through his mother’s work for an oral surgeon. Seeing firsthand how oral and maxillofacial surgery could dramatically improve patients’ quality of life sparked a lasting passion. That early influence ultimately led him back home, where he now practices — and later purchased — the very oral surgery office that inspired his career path.

Today, Dr. Hopkin offers a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgical services, with a special focus on dental implants and full-arch tooth replacement, including Teeth-in-a-Day solutions. He also routinely treats impacted wisdom teeth, performs bone grafting and sinus lift procedures, manages TMJ disorders, and provides surgical solutions for obstructive sleep apnea. His training in facial trauma and oral pathology allows him to care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs, all within a safe, modern surgical environment.
